Westside Neighborhood Park - Dig In and Give …02/23/2019

This event was canceled

Activities

Have fun, do good, and get involved! Join the Green Redmond Partnership in Westside Park for a fun morning of helping the forest and this great park. We’ll be removing invasive weeds to make room for trees and native plants to thrive.

This event has something for everyone: roll up your sleeves and get some exercise, relax from the bustle of your daily grind by spending time under the park’s big trees, feel good knowing you’re helping to care for this neighborhood gem for the community to enjoy, spend quality time volunteering with friends or family, meet new neighbors, and help our environment thrive.

Open to the public

All ages OK

10 out of 10 participants registered.

What to Bring

A water bottle, a snack if you want one, and tough clothes, and shoes that can get dirty (because they will!), including long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to protect against prickly blackberry. Closed-toed shoes are required: work boots, hiking boots, or running shoes are all fine. Remember to check the weather and bring appropriate layers and rain gear or sun protection as needed.

Where to Meet

From the main entrance to the park, on 156th Ave NE, cross the lawn and meet the group at the trailhead leading into the woods. If you arrive late, follow the trail and find us working!

NOTE: This site does NOT have a public restroom.

Where to Park

Plenty of street parking available next to the park along 156th Ave NE and along NE 59th Way.
